Planting commenced in 2003 so we are only new but already we have a number of formal and informal settings that provide a great day out including:
- Horticultural Display Gardens
- Sensory Garden
- Mangroves to Mountains transect containing local native species suited to our gardens
- Butterfly Garden
- Rose Garden
In addition there are various amenities that were part of the original Rosser Park and have been further enhanced as part of the development of the gardens as a Regional Botanic Gardens. Some of the these features include lakes and boardwalks, a children’s playground, an off-leash dog exercise area and picnic areas.
Council is also developing more attractions under the Botanic Gardens Master Plan. This will include visitor facilities and additional pathways. An exciting devlopment soon to commence is the Children's Garden, the design for which was inspired by Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens "Ian Potter's Foundation Childrens Garden".
So stay tuned because it just gets more exciting!
