The Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens are open from dawn to dusk each day and entry is free. Our new Friends' Centre is open daily between 10am and 2pm. Guided walks are available by prior appointment. The gardens are located on Ashmore Rd adjacent to Royal Pines (map).

Special general meeting and AGM to start at 8.30am... Then at 10.30am the launch of 'Birdwings' New Home' by ABC Local Radio's Peter Scott. Note: Due to summer heat, no planting will be undertaken.


Birdwing Book Launch

Friends Member, Lyn Reilly recently completed a new childrens' picture book 'The Birdwing's New Home' along with illustrator Lois Hughes. The book is expected to be published early November and will be available for purchase at the Friends Centre for $15. As a special offer however, Friends can pre-order this book for $13 using this application form.

Regular Activities

  • Maintenance Group sessions – every Wednesday at 6.30 am during the Summer/Daylight Savings period (October-March); and 7.30am in the Winter/Non-Daylight Savings period (April-September);
  • Herbarium Sessions – Tuesdays and Saturdays 9-11am, Friends Centre;
  • Friends meetings – 1st Mondays 5.30 – 7.30pm, Friends Centre; and
  • Australian Plants Gold Coast meetings – 4th Tuesdays 5pm-7.30pm, Friends Centre (except December).

Botanica Quest for the Kids

Join in the adventure of Botanica Quest in the upcoming school holidays. Enjoy this Christmas themed arts and crafts themed event. Suitable for 4 - 12 years.

        • 9am-10am or 10am-11am
        • $4 per child

Don’t forget to bring a drink bottle and remember your hat, sunscreen and enclosed shoes. Meet at the verandah of the Friends Centre in the Mangroves to Mountains area.

Seminar and Workshop Timetable

If you would like to attend one of the following seminars (S) or workshops (W), held at the Friends Centre, please click here to register. Seminars run for 2-3 hours and are $10 ($8 for members). Workshops are limited to 10 participants, run for 4.5 hours and are $35 ($28 for members). Light refreshments and take home notes are provided.
